ITATUBE 2014 » DAY 2: BEST DAY & MIRACULOUS MEETING

Last week I've been attending an italian YouTube convention called ItaTube (hence why I was so MIA) and this week I'll let you know what happened.

With the nicest little nugget.

Those girls are so stunning.

The boy band looking snazzy.

LGBT panel.

Strawberry daiquiri, I still didn't know what was going to happen!

The Miracoulous Metting.

This was our first day of proper convention and as soon as we walked into the Alcatraz, a special signing session with Tyler Oakley was announced. Obviously, we all run towards the stage where the signing was taking place in a big shapeless crowd. We were in the front row when they said the signing was over, but since the next people there were going to be on stage was the YouTube boy band and being the first day we still hadn't met anyone, we weren't bothered.

Once on stage, though, we've been said we could still meet Tyler, so we bought the posters and walked to that little purple nugget who in person is the cutest thing ever. As we were approaching him, Louise and Zoe went on stage as well and Zoe basically went towards us like to hug us, but then saw our posters and said: 'Oh, you're here for Tyler!' and went away. We and my friend were absolutely stunned and incapable to talk atm but if Zoe will ever read this (haha) I want her to know that we would've liked a hug by her very very much, thanks.

After having met the Tyler Oakley, having hugged him, said him he was our queen and pulled weird faces with him, we had to leave the stage, all happy with our brand new signed posters. As we left, we basically had to walk in the conference room, where a The Fault In Our Stars panel with Troye Sivan was taking place. It was my favorite bit of the whole convention: there were like 30 people, which meant we all had a chance to ask Troye something (I asked him three questions!) and to interact with him. We talked the book, his song, the movie and it was all beautiful and amazing. Troye was a little nervous - as you could see by his lovely red cheeks - but was absolutely perfect: he's so nice and such a down to earth person. That was a special little hour we spent together while the rest of the convention was queuing for m&g's and really felt like something unique and spontaneous. We couldn't take any picture with him, sadly, but again it was magical anyway.

After the The Fault In Our Stars panel and a the TFIOS playbill, we got back into the queue, this time for meeting Zoe, Louise and Tanya. They were very sweet, Zoe said she liked my hair (I was wearing the milkmaid braid) and I asked Louise about our meeting yesterday, but she said she had a few drinks so she couldn't recall (watch Louis's vlog and you'll see she was telling the truth :) oh and in this vlog you can see a cheeky appearance of my face right behind Zoe!) but Alfie said to our friends he remembered us so it was ok.

Now we were sore, so we decided to grab a glass of water (which was 2 euros! Mental!) and sit down watching the panels that were taking place on the main stage. The boy band hit the stage first, doing the 'Seven Seconds Challenge' live and taking off their shirts giving us a cheeky glimpse of their perfect bodies (yup, mama's thirsty for a bit of British men). Then it was time for the LGBT panel, starring Troye, Hannah and Tyler. It was very inspiring and fun, they talked everything from when's the right moment to come out to how they knew they were gay. It was really interesting and I loved how we could all talk about that without feeling embarrassed or anything.

The convention was over, we were exhausted and there was the after party that night, so we went back to our hotel, and had an amazing idea: we noticed everyone was giving YouTubers flower crowns, but we didn't want to be banal, so we thought we could give them pizza flower crowns! We bought all the necessary and started building them, creating paper flowers that had pizza slices instead of petals. It's a little hard to explain but I promise you they were the prettiest!

At 11 something pm we were all dressed up in taxi ready to hit the Hollywood, the club where the after party was taking place. When we arrived, though, we saw it was very crowded and since we were absolutely super tired we really weren't up for another queue that night. We decide to wander around a bit first, constantly checking Twitter in the meanwhile. In the end, we find ourselves set at a bar called Maf, with a strawberry daiquiri and an upset feeling. We were exhausted, but we went out anyway, we paid for the taxi, but we didn't even got in the club, and what is more we kept seeing YouTubers tweeting they were in their room watching tv, showing they had no intention to go out. That was the general feeling as I was scrolling down my time line, but then my friend started saying 'Guys, guys, guys' and as I lifted my eyes from my phone Lisa was whispering 'Oh my God' which has never been so appropriated: at a cm from us, Joe Sugg, Jim Chapman, Alfie Deyes, Marcus Butler, Caspar Lee and Oli White were standing still. Like they were there, right next to us. We jumped up, said hello and took a picture with them, then we had a chat with Joe and Jim. They said they were headed to the party but they weren't sure it was going to be a good one. We hugged them and then let them go, while we were absolutely freaking out.
That's not the kinda thing that usually happens to me.
We started posting the picture everywhere and bragging with everyone was awake about our incredible luck. We were so excited as for the first time ever we weren't the ones who were eating their hearts out.

On this super exciting whim we went back to the hotel (it was like 1 am) and went back to our pizza flower crowns to finish 'em. We still were exhausted and sore, but so freaking excited we couldn't get to sleep anyway. We finished at something like 4 am but we didn't mind: we were already dreaming about meeting the boys the next day, giving them our pizza flower crowns and maybe bragging a bit more about our incredible Irish luck.

TLDR » This day at ItaTube we met Tyler Oakley, Troye Sivan, Zoe Sugg, Tanya Burr and Louise Pentland. We were damn lucky and met the whole YouTube boy band + Oli White by chance, while we were having a drink and they were going clubbing. They stopped, we chatted, I freaked out. Then we were so excited we didn't sleep to make pizza flower crowns.
